When is the competition?

WFTC 2019 will be held over 5 days, in August 2019. The 7th August will be the first day of the event and will be used for sign-in and zeroing. The opening ceremony will be held on that evening as well. The next three days, the 8th, 9th & 10th, will be used for the competition on the three 50-shot courses, and the closing and awards ceremony will take place in the afternoon of Sunday 11th August. We have over 15 hours of daytime in the UK at this time of year, from sunrise at 5.30 am to sunset at 8.30 pm so we do not anticipate any schedule problems with two sessions of 225 shooters. With all the on-site amenities, activities and full course access for spectators, we anticipate there will be plenty to keep everyone occupied in or out of the competition.

Where will the competition be held?

The venue for the competition and all the other associated activities is the Heart of England corporate conference centre. We have chosen this venue because of the superb on-site facilities, its great transport connections and the layout minimises walking between all the various elements of the competition. The opening and closing ceremonies will be held in a 750 seated purpose built presentation hall with full AV presentation facilities situated just inside the entrance to the 160 acre venue and yards away from the weather proof car parking. Meeting rooms for any lectures such as course-building or marshalling are also available right alongside. To accompany these a fully staffed restaurant and bar is open 7 days a week. Directly adjacent to car parking is the shoot administration marquee. The zero range, course entrance and other activities are all less than 100 meters away. Limited but luxury accommodation is available onsite. Please contact the venue direct to arrange booking for this. Furthermore, around the venue there is a wide variety of accommodation to suit all budgets. Birmingham International Airport is just a 20 minute drive which is made easy with the venue being located close to the M42 motorway & A45 trunk road. Please see our visitors section for more information on popular entry points to the UK.
